Stress free Christmas

With Christmas right around the corner, there may be a ton of stress on your shoulders. All the hustle and bustle of the season or trying to give your kids or spouse the gift(s) or things they want, we here at CCDR completely understand. While we cannot help with stress regarding in-laws or busyness, however, there are ways to go about the Christmas season where you won’t need to feel the stress, financially. Here today, lets take a deep dive into it, and discuss the options, as we want you to enjoy the season, without the financial stress.

One thing here at CCDR that we like to hammer home, is make a budget. In many of our previous articles, videos, or blogs we have been on record saying how it is one of the most crucial pieces in building financial wealth & health. For seasons like Christmas, it is one of the greatest tools for keeping you on track and making sure you know where all your money is going. While a budget may help you have the written and laid out plan, it also is going to take self control. I know what its like for you wanting to give your kid the newest console or Lego set, but if it does not fit your budget then do not overdo it. This is the sure-fire way to end up in the office of CCDR or another likeminded company months down the line. Having the self control and preventative measures in place to ensure your financial success is key, and just because the holidays are upon us, do not let it knock you back down the ladder.

While setting a budget may be the most effective strategy to a successful holiday financially, second hand shopping can go aways in saving money, too. We live in a day and age where there is marketplace. you buy second hand things for yourself, why can't you for someone else? Not only that, but can also find extremely good deals on next to new, or new items, because let’s face it, does your son really need the store-new PS5 for $700.00, when you can buy the used one on marketplace for half the price? In many cases, crazy deals like these are not the norm, and can dramatically shave off the expensive tag that Christmas has attached to it.

Here in North America, we have a major consumer problem. Companies tend to over produce, and we have what is called as “Boxing Day”. We love to indulge on the overspending on things we claim to “need”. Whether it be the new sound system for your TV, or the new makeup kit, do you really “need it”? Just because it is on a sweet deal, doesn't warrant the need for the purchase. There will always be deals, do not be the sucker who loads up their credit card because of the “insane deal”.

Today, we have discussed a ton of strategies and tips that can help you stay on track financially through the holiday season. You may be feeling motivated and antsy to begin on this new way of “holiday-ing” but the question is, will you really implement it? I know how easy it is to read something and just have all the motivation, just for it to die out again and forget about it 10 minutes later. It all comes down to if your ready for the change, and if being financially free, is something that truly matters to you.

Happy Holidays,

The CCDR Team.
